Media Warranty
LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF REMEDIES:
Exabyte certifies to the original
purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and
manufacture at the time of purchase. If any defect in materials or
manufacture appears after purchase, Exabyte's entire liability, and your
exclusive remedy is replacement of the product with a comparable
product.
This warranty does NOT apply to failure
of this Exabyte product resulting from misuse, abuse, accident, neglect
or mishandling, improperly adjusted or maintained tape drives, incorrect
application or operating environments, wear from ordinary use or if the
product has not been purchased from a source authorized by Exabyte.
EXABYTE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY
DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL LOSS OR DAMAGE, AND THE
FOREGOING IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
This warranty gives you specific legal
rights and you may also have other rights which vary by location.
If you are experiencing problems with a
media product, do not return to place of purchase. Contact the
appropriate Exabyte location shown on the next page. Do not return media
to Exabyte without first obtaining a Return Material Authorization
Number (RMA #) as deliveries without an RMA# will be refused. You will
need to provide the following information:
- Date media was purchased.
- Drive type, Media type and length
(i.e. VXA - V17 - 170m).
- Number of cartridges with problems
and total cartridges of this type you own.
- Lot Numbers of failing media
(engraved on either the cartridge door or rear of the plastic
cartridge).
- Your Company name and address;
your name, email address and telephone number; name of reseller
where media was purchased.
- Description of the problem with as
much detail as possible.
- Computer type, Operating System,
Backup Application used.
- Whether the media is used on a
single drive or in a library and type of library.
An Exabyte Support representative may
ask you to perform certain diagnostics tests on the media prior to
issuing an RMA #. These tests are critical in determining if the media
or the drive is the cause of your problems. Contact the appropriate
